Canada Tops List As Best Defenders Of Privacy

The watchdog group Privacy International has ranked Canada along with Germany as best defenders of privacy. The ranking were based on various privacy-related issues, such as:
On a scale of one to five, Canada scored three or higher in all categories. Canada received the highest ranking of five for its legal limits on the keeping of private data. It scored four in constitutional and statutory protection, privacy enforcement, ID cards and biometrics, leadership in promoting privacy and democratic safeguards.
